Last week we teamed up with the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce to host a thought-provoking roundtable event at our Birmingham HQ, featuring influential business leaders from across the Midlands to delve into pressing topics including skills development, international trade, and innovation.

In addition to the fantastic roster of businesses present, we were thrilled to host Penny Mordaunt, Leader of the House of Commons, Sir John Peace, Chair of the Midlands Engine, and Nicola Richards MP for West Bromwich East. Together, we explored strategies that could empower businesses to thrive amidst the challenges of the current economic landscape while charting a course for Birmingham's continued growth and success.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to showcase the essence of Intercity to our guests. As they toured our headquarters and interacted with our talented colleagues, it was a moment of pride for us to demonstrate the innovation and expertise that drive our operations.

"Intercity are a fantastic organisation and they really understand the infrastructure that you need in place to enable business to thrive grow. But also, critically, they know success is about people, it's about bringing people together."

Reflecting on the event, it's clear that collaboration and dialogue are key catalysts for progress. By fostering an environment of open dialogue and collaboration, we can unlock new opportunities and pave the way for a brighter future for Birmingham and beyond. It was great to see Ms Mordaunt and Ms Richards engage with our talented graduates and apprentices!
