Birmingham Tech week is fast approaching, and we’re delighted to say that we’ll be a part of it! Birmingham Tech Week (Oct 11th – 15th) is a festival of digital, technology and innovation across Birmingham and the West Midlands, and as a business with a long heritage in the city, it felt like the right fit for us to be a part of the celebration.

So, what can you look forward to seeing from us?

Monday 11th October | 15:00 – 19:00 | Millennium Point | Opening Event

Birmingham Tech Week will officially kick off with our opening event where 350 tech advocates will come together. The event will look at what’s in store for the week and look ahead to the next 12 months – demonstrating why we should all be getting very excited.

350 tech advocates, leaders and stakeholders will come together to discuss the future tech strategy for the region.

Intercity will have delegates from the business there to talk all things tech – from communications to connectivity, cloud to security, we’ll be there with many other tech leaders to discuss the future of technology in the region.

Decoding digital Transformation, PHIL BINDLEY

The world is changing quicker than at any other point in history – and technology is transforming sectors.

In this online session, Phil Bindley, our Managing Director for Cloud and Security will be joining other speakers to focus on three key areas of digital transformation:

1. Finance and the emergence of FinTech

2. Automation and AI

3. Digital infrastructure, cloud and security

This session will help you understand some of the biggest trends in technology, debunking myths along the way, helping you to understand what it all means! Engage with questions and join the debate about how Tech is changing the world as we know it.

Michael Bristow (CEO of CrowdProperty) will talk about the emergence of per to peer lending and how technology has enabled a large-scale disruption of the traditional finance and lending systems that is only just getting started

Karl Nicholson (CIO at Synaptek) will talk about how AI, Machine Learning and hyper-automation are disrupting common business process and customer focused services.

Phil Bindley (Managing Director Cloud and Security and Intercity Technology) will talk about how digital infrastructure is changing and its implications for security, energy and performance.

Tech Showcase

During the day we will give tech and digital businesses from across the region the opportunity to tell their stories – showcasing their innovation and success to a global audience.

Davoc Bradley, our Head of Product, IT & Security will be taking part in a panel discussion about the history of Digital Entrepreneurship – so be sure to stop by and ask him a few questions.

We’ll also have a stand at the centre, showcasing our current innovations and work in the region – and this is your opportunity to speak to us about your burning tech questions.
