Intercity named finalists: Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards
We’ve been shortlisted in not one, but two categories at the 2025 Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards.
What a result. Intercity are now finalists in two categories at the 2025 Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards:
✔️ Blick Rothenberg Mid-Market Growth Business of the Year
✔️ Employer of the Year
We entered the growth category. The second one came as a surprise. We didn’t apply, but after sharing our story with Lloyds, they put us forward. That decision speaks volumes.
About the awards
The British Business Excellence Awards are one of the most respected award programmes in the UK. Backed by Lloyds Bank, they recognise businesses that deliver genuine impact through performance, leadership, culture and innovation.
These awards aren’t handed out for effort. Finalists are chosen by an independent panel of judges from across British industry. The process is competitive, and this year saw more entries than ever before. To be shortlisted is a sign that something we’re doing is cutting through.
Mid-Market Growth Business of the Year
This category, sponsored by Blick Rothenberg, focuses on mid-sized UK businesses. It was introduced to shine a light on companies in the middle market that are achieving standout commercial results, expanding their reach, and driving change through bold decisions.
This is exactly where Intercity sits. We’ve grown fast and on purpose, widened our services, invested in the right areas, and stayed laser-focused on helping businesses succeed through better tech. This nomination backs up the momentum we’ve been building.
Employer of the Year
Employer of the Year wasn’t part of our plan. But the judges saw something in how we treat people, how we lead, and how we show up. That shortlisting matters. Because it confirms something we already believe: the culture we’ve built is strong and it’s visible from the outside.
This category recognises how businesses recruit, develop and retain their people. It also looks at inclusion, leadership and what it really means to create a place where people thrive. Being nominated without even applying is recognition we’re proud of.
What’s next
Judging takes place this autumn in London. Winners will be announced on 11 November at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane. We’ll be there, proud of the team behind this and everything we’ve built together.
To be shortlisted for growth and culture in the same breath says everything about who we are. We’ve built a business that delivers, and a workplace where people want to be. This recognition isn’t just deserved. It’s earned.
We’ll see you in November!
