2. WHAT COOKIES DO WE USE?
We group the cookies on our website into four categories. These are the same categories you see in our cookie banner.
· Necessary: essential for the website to work and be secure, for example bot protection, spam protection on forms and remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off.
· Preferences: remember choices you make, such as a display theme or an ongoing chat with our team.
· Statistics: help us understand how visitors use our website, including which pages are popular and how people move around the site.
· Marketing: measure our advertising, show you relevant adverts on other platforms, identify the organisations that visit us, and load embedded content such as YouTube videos.

International data transfers
Several of these providers are based in the United States, so information collected by their cookies may be transferred to and processed there. Where this happens, the transfer is protected either by the UK–US data bridge (the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework), for providers certified under it, or by the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Data sent to providers in Ireland and the rest of the EU is covered by the UK's adequacy regulations. The list in section 8 shows where each cookie's data is sent.
We may share aggregated statistics about our website traffic with trusted partners. These statistics do not identify individual visitors. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Intercity, our customers or others.
4. HOW TO REFUSE OR REMOVE COOKIES
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of any page on our website.

We scan our website regularly and update this policy when the cookies we use change. The list in section 8 reflects our most recent scan on 19 October 2026.
