We’re thrilled to confirm that Intercity has acquired the Northampton-based telecommunications business, Chandler Communications!
The deal follows a successful period of organic growth for us here at Intercity based on exceptional customer service across our Communications, Cloud & Security and Managed Services divisions. The purchase provides great momentum in our overarching strategy for supporting our organic growth with acquisitions.
So, why Chandler? The company were established in 1986 by husband and wife, Perry and Jo Chandler, and is a well-respected family-run business. They’re known for their stellar customer service and work hard to cultivate long-term customer partnerships, just like us. Not only are our two companies alike in being family-owned and customer-focused, but Chandler importantly share our people-first approach to business.
We truly believe in People Power, and as a result, the deal will see Chandler’s colleagues retained to become a part of #TeamIntercity, with the business’s Northampton site also joining our network of UK offices.

Perry Chandler, Director and Co-Founder of Chandler Communications, added:

In addition, and most significantly, they will also gain access to a full range of IT services and other products which Intercity offers within its portfolio.”
The acquisition follows our strong organic growth with a 108% year-on-year increase in new customers since 2020. In addition, our latest customer satisfaction score has increased by 22% making it one of the highest in the IT sector, according to the Institute of Customer Service. Earlier this year, we were was also recognised as the number one Telecoms Company to work for in the UK by Best Companies. In addition, we unveiled new branding, with an updated website, new logo and a fresh ‘Do More’ proposition that underscores our rigorous focus on enabling organisations to meet and surpass their goals with technology.
