Intercity at Birmingham Tech Week 2025: Here’s how we’re showing up

We’re thrilled to be back for Birmingham Tech Week, running from 20 to 24 October 2025, and this year we’re going all in. We’re not just turning up, we’re sponsoring, speaking, supporting and helping to shape the conversation in the West Midlands tech ecosystem.

As a proud sponsor of the festival and a patron of Tech WM, the organisation driving the region’s tech growth, we believe in Birmingham’s potential to lead, innovate and make an impact on a national stage.

WHERE TO SEE US THIS WEEK:

Monday 20 October: Leadership takes centre stage

We’ve starting the week strong at the Exclusive Leadership Event at Millennium Point. This invite-only gathering brought together senior leaders, founders and public sector voices to set the agenda for the region’s future.

Our CEO, Charlie Blakemore was one of the key speakers, sharing insights on how technology can drive business transformation across every sector. We’ve also had an exhibition stand throughout the day, where attendees met the team to explore how Intercity is enabling organisations to do more through technology.

We’re there because leadership conversations shape the future. Intercity’s mission is to help organisations thrive through secure, high-performing and scalable technology. Being part of this dialogue means we’re helping to drive the region forward, not just talking about it.

Tuesday 21 October: People, purpose and progress

Tuesday is all about people and purpose, with two big events on the agenda.

Digital Skills Symposium

At the BCEC, Chief People Officer Melanie King will speak about attracting and developing digital talent in a competitive market. The West Midlands digital skills gap remains one of the biggest challenges to regional growth, and Melanie will explore how organisations can bridge that gap through meaningful investment in skills and culture.

Women in Tech Event

Over at the NatWest Hub, Chief Sustainability Officer Christina Pendleton will join the line-up at the Women in Tech event to discuss sustainability, leadership and inclusion. Christina will explore how diverse teams fuel innovation and how sustainability is not just an environmental concern but a business one.

Thursday 23 October: Scale and security

Scale-Up Summit at STEAMhouse

The Scale-Up Summit gathers ambitious tech businesses that are driving the region’s growth. Intercity will have a stand at STEAMhouse where our experts will be on hand to discuss how technology can enable growth, from cloud infrastructure to cybersecurity and managed services.

We understand the challenges of scaling fast because we’ve done it ourselves. That’s why we’re passionate about supporting others on that same journey.

Cyberverse at the School of Coding

Our Field CISO and cybersecurity expert Phil Bindley will take the stage at Cyberverse to share insights on resilience, threat trends and how businesses can strengthen their defences in a constantly evolving threat landscape.

Cybersecurity is a business enabler. Phil’s session will highlight how integrating cyber awareness into every layer of an organisation helps create agility, trust and long-term resilience.

Why Birmingham Tech Week matters to us

Birmingham Tech Week is the UK’s largest regional tech festival, with more than 60 events, 100 speakers and 8,000 attendees. The energy, collaboration and ambition on display reflect the region’s strength as a true hub for digital innovation. Intercity is proud to be part of that story.

Intercity’s Role: From supporter to shaper

We’re not there to tick boxes. We’re bringing real expertise and experience to every conversation. Whether it’s our focus on people and skills, sustainability and inclusion, or security and performance, we’re helping businesses across the region reach their potential through technology that works for them.
