Bristol Bears has confirmed Intercity as its Managed IT Service Partner ahead of the, in a partnership designed to power the club's growth both on and off the pitch, and to give Bristol Bears Women a new name on their shirts.

Under the deal, Intercity becomes an official club partner, supporting Bristol Bears' men's and women's programmes across IT Managed Services, Cloud, Cybersecurity, and Communications. The partnership also sees Intercity take on the role of official lower back-of-shirt partner for Bristol Bears Women, timed perfectly with the squad's blockbuster signing of England Red Roses star Ellie Kildunne.

WHY TECHNOLOGY MATTERS MORE THAN EVER IN ELITE RUGBY

Modern rugby clubs run on data as much as they run on the pitch. From performance analytics to matchday connectivity, the technology behind the scenes increasingly shapes what happens in front of the crowd. Bristol Bears is investing accordingly, building the systems and services needed to support a club with genuine ambitions for both its men's and women's teams.

Intercity's track record in managed technology services made it a natural partner for a club focused on sustainable growth, performance, and long-term development.

A MILESTONE MOVE INTO THE SOUTH WEST

For Intercity, the partnership marks a significant expansion into a new region. The company already works with Birmingham City Football Club and Edgbaston, and Bristol Bears now gives it a flagship presence in the South West's sporting landscape.

"This is a major milestone for our business, giving us a new presence in the South West, whilst also extending our footprint in the sporting world. Bristol Bears and Bristol Bears Women are very ambitious and share our values of developing talent and delivering a major positive impact to the communities we both operate in."
Oliver Hayward, Chief Revenue Officer, Intercity

BACKING WOMEN'S RUGBY AND WOMEN IN TECH

The partnership goes well beyond a logo on a shirt. Bristol Bears Women have become one of the most exciting stories in the growth of the women's game, and Intercity brings its own track record of championing women in technology, through career development programmes, apprenticeships, graduate pathways, and mentoring.

For the 2026/27 season, Intercity branding will feature on the lower back of Bristol Bears Women's playing shirts under a one-year agreement; a visible, season-long statement of support for the women's programme.

Bristol Bears Women General Manager Daisie Mayes said:

"We're delighted to welcome Intercity to Bristol Bears. Its commitment to developing female talent and creating opportunities for women in technology really resonates with what we're building within our women's programme. Having their support as our lower back-of-shirt partner is a fantastic endorsement of our ambitions, and we're excited to work together as we continue to grow the team and inspire the next generation."

MORE THAN A SPONSORSHIP: A COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY

Both organisations share a track record of community investment. Intercity supports charitable causes including Acorns Children's Hospice, the Army Benevolent Fund, and Kids Village, while Bristol Bears Foundation runs programmes that create measurable social impact across the region.

Bristol Bears CEO Tom Tainton added:

"As we continue to invest in high-performance environments across our men's and women's programmes, we're excited to work alongside Intercity, a partner that truly understands the vital role technology plays in enabling success both on and off the field."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

This partnership brings together three things that don't always meet in one place: enterprise technology expertise, elite sporting ambition, and a genuine commitment to developing people and communities. As Bristol Bears heads into a pivotal 2026/27 season, with Ellie Kildunne now in the squad and both programmes on an upward trajectory, Intercity is proud to join as a partner to drive the Bears towards their ambitions.
